Father Justin Popovich, archimandrite and spiritual father of the Chelije monastery, was born in Vranje to father Spiridon and mother Anastasia, on the Feast of the Annunaciation (Blagovesti) in 1894 and therefore was given the name Blagoje (from Blagovest = Annunciation) at baptism.
