In this decade (2010 – 2020) we commemorate several important dates in the life of Church, both in Europe and on the North American continent: 800 years of the autocephaly of the Church in Serbian lands, and the 95th anniversary of the founding of the first Serbian Diocese of America and Canada in the „new“ continent. Both events, the autocephaly and the founding of our first American Diocese, have elevated the life of our compatriots and our Church to a traditional episcopal and diocesan level. It is in the image of Bishop Mardarije Uskoković, the first Serbian bishop on this continent, that the deep common longing of our ancestors, who immigrated to the New World, was crowned in a most beautiful way
